This dose should be applied approximately until the 14th day of treatment, when the effectiveness should be evaluated. Further increase of the dose is carried out only if there is no efficacy. The dose can be increased at intervals of 2 weeks or more by 0.25 mg/day for patients with body weight less than 20 kg and by 0.5 mg/day for patients with body weight 20 kg or more.

 

In clinical trials, the maximum daily dose did not exceed 1.5 mg/day for patients weighing less than 20 kg and 2.5 mg/day for patients weighing 20 kg or more, and 3.5 mg/day for patients weighing more than 45 kg.

Contraindications of Risperdal:

 

• Hypersensitivity/individual hypersensitivity to Riperidone or any other ingredient of this drug;

 

• period of breast-feeding.

• dehydration and hypovolemia;

Symptoms

Drowsiness, sedation, tachycardia, arterial hypotension, extrapyramid symptoms. Lengthening of the QT interval and seizures were observed. Bidirectional ventricular tachycardia was observed in the joint administration of an increased dose of Risperidone and Paroxetine.

Treatment

 

Free airway access should be achieved and maintained to ensure adequate oxygen supply and ventilation. ECG monitoring for possible arrhythmias should be started immediately.

 

There is no specific antidote and appropriate symptomatic therapy should be carried out. Arterial hypotension and vascular collapse should be eliminated with intravenous fluid infusions and/or sympathomimetic drugs. If severe extrapyramid symptoms develop, anticholinergic drugs should be prescribed. Continued medical observation and monitoring should be continued until symptoms of intoxication disappear.
